Community Empowerment Program, LLC
The first session of the White Glove Program was very enlightening. Ms Bishop immediately grasped the attention of all the young ladies by presenting each individual with a special gift bag, addressing each with "Miss", and listening and responding to their questions and comments. The girls were impressed by the informaion shared and eager to learn. They were also so excited, that at times, they competed with each other to gain the attention from Ms. Bishop.
In addition, the girls attempted to present themselves as they thought it appropriate to gain Ms. Bishop's attention. Ms. Bishop did well addressing the issues of self esteem and confidence that was lacking from some without singling out anyone in a shameful manner. In my observation, the White Glove Program is very beneficial to the girls. Ms. Bishop does an excellent job in gaining their attention and opening the door for the girls to feel excited about this learning experience.

Being here, in this program for the short period of time I was here, was an amazing and enriching experience. Even though I am from a different culture, I learned much of what it means to be African American and it opened my eyes to an unkown part of history. I also learned what it meant to be a proper young woman, and it made me think of how I should act in public and hold myself with pride. I loved being a part of GraceKelli's and it is an experience I am not soon to forget.

Ms. Bishop changed my life and has influenced me to pursue my dream and to enlist into the military. Also, to be successful and always be myself and to never give up on anything. I believe anything is possible in life; it’s how you go about getting it. I also learned, never be afraid to take risks in life and give your all to whatever you set out to do.
